Past: Webinar, June 22, Increasing Physical Activity: The Economic Stimulus and Other Policy Options
This webinar, which took place June 22, provided an opportunity for state and local policy-makers to learn about how funds from the economic stimulus can be used to increase opportunities for physical activity for children and families. Other policy options that can help to leverage these funds in creating healthier communities were also discussed. The event featured staff from Leadership for Healthy Communities, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center to Prevent Childhood Obesity and the National Policy and Legal Analysis Network to Prevent Childhood Obesity, as well as a Washington state legislator who discussed the law recently passed in his state requiring that $7.5 million in economic stimulus funds be used to keep pedestrians and bicyclists safe.
