APTA’s, Evaluating Public Transportation Health Benefits

Evaluating Public Transportation Health Benefits, from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), finds that people who live near public transportation have longer, healthier lives. The report, which aggregates the findings of several recent studies, shows that communities with high quality public transportation see fewer road fatalities than more sprawling, auto-dependent communities. Such communities also experience improved air quality, physical fitness, and mental health.
