Webinar Announcement: Exploring Health Impact Assessments

On Tuesday, July 31, 2012, Leadership for Healthy Communities will host a webinar to provide an overview of how Health Impact Assessments (HIAs) are used to examine the potential health impacts of a policy, project or plan.

Presenters will share examples of HIAs for proposed policies and projects surrounding healthy eating and active living. This webinar will share strategies for policymakers to advance policy, programmatic and system changes to ensure that healthier food and physical activity are accessible in all states through the HIA process.

What Leaders are Saying

Absolutely, childhood obesity reduction should be a priority issue for mayors. It is becoming a real health epidemic and it’s something that leaders have to address. This is not just an obesity issue but a future-of-our-children issue.
Manuel "Manny" Diaz, former president, U.S. Conference of Mayors
