On April 26, 2012, Leadership for Healthy Communities, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, hosted a webinar to discuss successful strategies to address both public safety and childhood obesity. These strategies included maintaining and providing safe access to parks; improving conditions that allow for safe active transport; increasing opportunities for children to walk or bike to school safely; designing communities to discourage crime and encourage physical activity.
